Iris

Over 15 years ago my friend, Phyllis moved away from Michigan -- and she let me transplant some iris from her yard. They continue to bloom wonderfully every summer. I spent the morning painting them and thinking of her!

So soft and pretty! Have you ever smelled the delicate fragrance of Iris? I moved into a home that had a huge old established iris bed and the smell is unforgettable. Heres a link to my iris sketch, with Flickr, I was able to even add notes to the painting: http://www.flickr.com/photos/46467728@N00/111753323/

Lovely Iris. I need to try painting some while ours are in bloom. Hopefully the down pour of the last two days didn't totall destroy them. I will have to check tomorrow and maybe try painting.

You've got some nice color range on the purples (was going to say violet and thought that might be confusing, given the subject matter) Nicely done.
