sink

A few years ago we were in Mexico on vacation and I bought a sink -- which I carried home on my lap! The sink cost about $45 -- and the complete redo of our bathroom to accomodate it was about 10 times that much!! But, I do LOVE this sink! (That's me in the mirror drawing by the way!)

YELLOW

I walked in my yard today sketching all things yellow. What a wonderful month April is! Then, I made a little painting of a bowl of pansies on my front porch. Happy spring to all!

Nature Walk

EDM Challenge this week is to take a walk in nature and draw. I sketched these wild flowers and then looked them up when I got home. I've not paid that close attention to wildflowers in the past. Fun! I just loved this bench in the midst of the woods inviting one to sit!

Nina's Challenge

Nina posted a challenge on the EDM list this week to draw her portrait based on a photo she posted on her blog. http://nine-ah.livejournal.com/111166.html Here is my response! This was very fun and a great idea -- Thank you Nina!!

Egret

I am taking Cathy Johnson's on line watercolor class right now. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/watercolor_online/This is my most successful homework to date! We went to our local nature center last night for an "owl prowl". We did see an owl which I tried to sketch (unsuccessfully). This egret is done from a drawing -- didn't actually see one last night!

Crayon self-portrait

EDM challenge this week is to redo a previous drawing using a different medium. This one is done in Caran D'Ache watercolor crayons. I am a bit sombre here -- but, that's actually how I am too much of the time!! Maybe this will remind me to lighten up! I loved playing with all the different colors!

pinecones

This week's EDM challenge is to draw a collection of things. I may choose "trees" as my theme for April -- Though it is snowing outside right now and not very appealing to get out and draw in!! I colored the background of this paper in Photoshop and I like how it looks!
