Blind contour painting

First Friday Blind Contour subject for September is "draw what you do on your day off". So, I have drawn my palette and a cup of brushes. One of my favorite things is to have breakfast outdoors and then get out my paints and have enough time to paint whatever I want! See other Blind contours here!

camping

I went on a solo camping trip this week-end. Lots of time to read, write, draw and paint. My tent was in a grove of trees and the beach (Lake Huron) was across the street. WHAT WERE THE CHANCES that a seagull would come along and leave a "card" right on my painting just as I was finishing it??? I am not kidding!!!

outdoor concert

Last night we went to a lovely concert by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra at a local outdoor venue. I thoroughly enjoyed sketching this tree as I listened to the orchestra. The small scribbling of the leaves took me the entire concert to do -- a very relaxing and enjoyable evening!

Sunday morning garden

Summer Sunday mornings are my absolute favorite! I like to draw and paint outdoors in my yard - while sipping tea and eating toast with cheese! Heaven on earth!

vacation drawings

EDM challenge this week is to draw a souvenir. For the first time, I am bringing back my own paintings of our trip to Utah as my souvenirs!! One of the view out my daughter's front window. Another of the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City. Two more of scenes from Red Butte Garden in SLC. A HOT but nice vacation visiting our daughter!
