WDE drawings 1/25/07

This week-end there were lots of fun photos to work from. I got a new sketchbook that is brown kraft paper. I have drawn this salt marsh with micron pen and white Prismacolor pencil. Then, I tried my hand at colored pencil oranges and mangoes. Finally, I drew these Camelia and Albutin flowers done in ink over pink and orange WC wash.

Lovely! I really like the way the colours pop on that brown paper and the black and white too.

BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL SKETCHES!! The simplicity of the salt marsh is just as evocative as the real thing! BRAVA, Penny!

Each one is prettier than the next. I love them all. I love working on that tan paper also.

Very nice. Salt marsh is pretty, and the inked flowers over the colored background just sing.

Love the shine on your oranges and mangoes! The colours look terrific on that tan background - it's the perfect midtone.

I haven't taken part in a WDE for ages. Must do something about that soon!
