plein air painting

On a spur of the moment, my husband and I went camping this week-end. (A rare 80 degree week-end was forecast!) We had a lovely time in northern central Michigan. I spent time drawing and painting while DH took LONG walks with the dog! Trees are just beginning to put on their Autumn colors!

Sunflower

I am taking a watercolor class this Fall from a lovely young artist, Sarah Schrift, in the Detroit area. We did "wet-into-wet" in our first class and Sarah provided these lovely sunflowers for us to work from!

dried flowers

A sure sign of Autumn -- the farmers at the Farmer's Market were selling dried flowers yesterday. I bought a bunch and on the way home found a lovely stone vase to put them in!
